(1/25) The Theater at Patriot Point in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is scheduled to open mid-February according to Ken Zumbrun, the theater’s Director of Operations. The
Patriot Point Theater, 241 Steinwehr Avenue, will host high caliber live musical theater and groups, multimedia presentations, improv comedy shows, lectures, living history presentations, film
screening, cultural and seasonal celebrations, recitals and private events such as weddings, receptions and meetings.
A Valentine’s Concert is scheduled for February 12 at 7 PM with Rene and Rommi Kinard. Redeemer International Family Church of Frederick County, Maryland has already leased
the facility for Sunday morning worship services starting Easter Sunday.
The black box-style theater of approximately 2,000 square feet provides a versatile performance facility offering great flexibility in staging and audience seating
arrangements, allowing the entire space to be adapted to the elements of many types of productions, events or gatherings. The seating is comprised of 110 of the latest state-of-the-art "back hugging"
chairs for audience comfort. Patriot Point was formerly the site of The Prince of Peace and Colt Firearms Museums.
"The mission of the theater is to provide family-friendly activities and is available for rent by anyone in the surrounding area and the country," says Mr. Zumbrun. "We are
excited to provide all sorts of top drawer entertainment for families, adults and children…visitors and area residents alike."
He adds that it is also the goal of the Patriot Point Theater to contribute to the community in many ways with benefits for non-profit organizations and conferences. Patriot
Point is presently a collection site for items to be sent to the troops in Iraq. There is also a Wall of Honor next to the theater where the photos of men and women presently serving in the military
are exhibited.
