For the month of
September, temperatures will be above
average with Precipitation to be above
average as well.
Weather Watch:
the month starts out fair and very warm (1)
with showers, storms (2,3). Fair and very
warm again (4,5), turning rainy and stormy
(6,7,8). Fair, warm, and humid (9,10,11,12,)
with more storms and very warm temperatures
(13,14,15). Fair and very warm again
(16,17,18) with still more storms, followed
by more warm, and very humid weather.
19,20). Watch for a tropical storm (21,22).
Turning fair and much cooler (23,24,25) with
more showers and storms 26,27,28). The month
ends with fair and rather warm temperatures
(29,20,31).
Tornado watch:
September will be an active month for
tornados with the most activity anticipated
from the 6th to the 8th and then again,
later in the month from the 21st to the
22nd. Watch out!
Full Moon:
September's full moon has often been
referred to as wort or elk call moon. It
will rise early in the month on the 7th at
1:42pm. The autumnal equinox will follow
later, occurring on the 22nd starting at
11:03pm EDSTt.
Special notes:

lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. We
must never take our freedom or our safety
for granted and most recent events confirm
that we must stay vigilant.
Holidays:
Labor day in on the first Monday (4th).
Celebrate the last holiday of the summer
with extra care. Make sure that your outdoor
plans include sunscreen and a mind for
safety in all of your activities.
Citizenship day falls on a Sunday, September
17th. Roshana is celebrated in September on
the 22nd and Ramadan begins on the 23rd.
The garden: fall is
for planting! Enjoy fall blooming shrubs
such as encore azaleas, camellias, witch
hazel, cotoneaster, crape myrtle, hibiscus,
holly, honeysuckle and pyracantha.
Cool-season vegetable seeds and seedlings
can also be planted, too. Try cabbage,
lettuce, beets, turnips, spinach, radishes,
collards and broccoli; be sure to water
thoroughly after planting.
